Excellent job on our kitchen knock through. High standard finish and very helpful with all aspects of the job… even fixed our toilet when it sprung a leak upstairs! Always asked questions on the details without proceeding. He is the most responsive tradesman I’ve ever worked with, answering calls, texts and emails very quickly. Would highly recommend.

Martyn has rebuilt the stairs and banisters in our rather wonky 18th century house. He has created a lovely staircase that had some awkward challenges. He is a tidy craftsperson, taking time to make sure that any materials and tools are stored away wherever possible. Martyn did a beautiful job of laying an engineered wood floor in a herringbone configuration in our kitchen. His experience and attention to detail really shows.

Martyn advised me on, and built, a superb set of oak-veneered shelves for an alcove in my living room/dining room. The shelves are distinct, attractive, strong and show off well books, ornaments and record albums (yes Im that old!) Martyn was quick to respond to my initial query, came to my house at agreed times and completed the work at an agreed date. He completed most of the work in his own workshop which meant minimal disruption to me at home. The cost was very reasonable and he was professional throughout I have no hesitation in recommending Martyn and I intend in bringing him back at some point next year for work I’m planning in my kitchen.

We initially hired Martyn when he provided a very competitive quote to replace a couple of doors and windows. We were so impressed that we then commissioned him to make a kitchen island unit. We had a good idea of what we wanted, but Martyn didnt hesitate to suggest changes that improved the overall design. His attention to detail and craftsmanship were superb and, moreover, his calm and professional manner made him a joy to deal with something we dont say lightly after months of having builders underfoot! Ive no doubt that we will be using him again unless these reviews attract too much other work for him. Maybe we should just keep quiet about how good he is?!

I have known Martyn Bargh for some time, and I would have no hesitation in recommending him for joinery work. The most recent work he has done for me is as part of a project to refurbish the hall stairs and landing. The main part of his work was to fit a new laminate floor to the hallway, and to fit a new bannister. He also enlarged the loft hatch access, fit a new loft hatch door and surrounding architrave, fit new skirting boards to the hallway and understairs WC, built a bespoke boxing in cupboard to hide the toilet waste piping whilst allowing access for maintenance. Martyn Bargh is very good at what he does. He has a professional manner, produces good work and can provide bespoke solutions. He is polite and trustworthy.

He is an excellent carpenter but has also proved that he is very adept at carrying out numerous other skills. He has organised other workmen including electricians, plasterers, brick layers etc, to work alongside him on bigger projects. We can only speak highly of Martyn and will continue to use him for years to come.
